Support Our School

There are a variety of ways you can help support RPCNS throughout the year.  Your child does not have to be a student in order to participate in many of our fundraisers.

Thank you for your support!

Rain Barrel Fundraiser

HELP SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT BY BUYING A RAIN BARREL

Rockville Presbyterian Cooperative Nursery is teaming up with Rain Barrels Intl. to promote rainwater harvesting in our community.

The school will be selling re-used food-grade rain barrels for $95.00. The barrels previously were used for storing Greek Olives, pickles, jalapenos, golden peppers and marinated cauliflower. After they are cleaned, retrofitted, and made into rain barrels, they are given a second life and kept out of landfills.

The barrels hold approximately 55 gallons, have a brass spigot for hose attachments, an overflow, and secured screened tops. They are available in the colors of black or terra cotta.

The Rain Barrels can be reserved at www.RainBarrelsIntl.com under the EVENTS tab and click Rockville Presbyterian Cooperative Nursery. Payments will be due when barrels are picked up at the school from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25th in the parking lot behind the church, 212 Harrison St., Rockville. If you are unable to make that day for pick up you can let them know and other arrangements can be made. Proceeds will benefit the nursery school.

Rainwater Harvesting is the process of collecting rain by capturing it from a gutter and storing it for later use. Collecting and using rainwater is simple and has numerous positive benefits. Rainwater can be used for watering your garden, cleaning your window ledges, lawn furniture and help reduce the impact on municipal storm drains by allowing the water to be diverted from your foundation to another area on your property.

The City of Rockville and Gaithersburg along with Montgomery County are currently also offering rain barrel rebates. Go to the respective websites to read the requirements and complete an application.

You must reserve your Rain Barrel in advance at: www.RainBarrelsIntl.com under the EVENTS tab.
